Chief Executive Officer, Radian group inc.

Rick Thornberry

Rick Thornberry is Chief Executive Officer of Radian Group Inc. (NYSE: RDN), a leading global multi-line specialty insurance company that helps businesses navigate risk with confidence. Headquartered in Wayne, Radian is one of the largest private mortgage insurers of U.S. residential mortgages and underwrites a multi-class specialty insurance and reinsurance portfolio, serving some of the world’s largest commercial and industrial enterprises.

Since joining Radian in 2017, Rick has evolved Radian into a data-driven enterprise focused on financial strength, disciplined growth and risk management. He has led the company’s strategic transformation into a diversified multi-line specialty insurer, culminating in the acquisition of Inigo in 2026.

Rick is also committed to advancing a culture of inclusion, accountability and community impact. Under his leadership, Radian has deepened its focus on corporate responsibility and been recognized for its efforts to promote housing stability and opportunity. He was honored by the Mortgage Bankers Association with the Community Champion Award for his contributions to the housing community and philanthropic engagement.

Prior to joining Radian, Rick brought more than 30 years of financial services leadership experience. He co-founded NexSpring Group in 2006, a financial services advisory and fintech firm serving private equity, lenders, and mortgage investors, where he served as Chairman and CEO until 2017. Rick also served as President and COO of Citicorp Mortgage Inc., Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director at Prudential Home Mortgage; and Senior Advisor to leading private equity firms. He began his career as a CPA at Deloitte, focusing on financial services clients.

Rick currently serves as an executive council member of the Housing Policy Council and on the board of directors of MBA Open Doors Foundation, which provides mortgage and rental payment assistance to families with a critically ill or injured child. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Saint Louis University.

Senior Executive Vice President, Chief People and Operating Officer

Mary Dickerson

As Senior Executive Vice President, Chief People and Operating Officer, Mary Dickerson leads Radian’s People, Facilities and Procurement functions, Title and Real Estate Services businesses, Corporate Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Responsibility or ESG.

Before joining Radian, she served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources at DLL Group, a subsidiary of Rabobank Group, where she led a team of 150 human resource professionals globally for its 6,000 employees in 32 countries. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the company’s global human resources function and worked to build the organization’s diverse culture, globally connected workforce and best-in-class learning and development program.

Mary was recognized as the 2020 CHRO of the Year by the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Award.

Mary’s prior experience includes leading human resources at organizations such as XL Catlin and the Hartford Financial Services Group, as well as CHRO & EVP, General Manager at Accolade, Inc.

Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Sociology from University College Cork, National University of Ireland, and holds an MBA in Management from Saint Joseph’s University and a JD from Widener University School of Law. A licensed attorney admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, she is a member of The American Bar Association. Mary is a volunteer child advocate attorney for the Pennsylvania-based Montgomery County Child Advocacy Project.

 

Senior Executive Vice President, General Counsel

Ted Hoffman

As senior executive vice president, general counsel, Ted Hoffman is responsible for legal and regulatory compliance.

Since joining Radian in 2005, Ted has managed SEC, NYSE and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, corporate governance and other corporate related matters. He was promoted to senior vice president, assistant general counsel in February 2008. Prior to joining Radian, Ted was a senior associate in the Corporate and Securities Group of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia.

Ted holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a JD from Villanova University School of Law. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.

 

President and Chief Financial Officer

Sumita Pandit

As president and chief financial officer, Sumita Pandit is responsible for overseeing Radian’s Mortgage Insurance business along with the Company’s financial functions, including financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, enterprise capital planning, investment portfolio management, treasury activities, investor relations, and strategic initiatives.
 
Sumita has more than two decades of experience in investment banking, advising companies across verticals in fintech, including payments, financial software, neo-banks, and insurance technology. She joined Radian after serving more than two years as the Chief Operating Officer of dLocal, a NASDAQ-listed global financial technology company, where she oversaw key client management, marketing, investor relations, and corporate development. In 2024, Sumita was recognized as a Woman of Influence and Finance Leader by HousingWire.  

Prior to dLocal, Sumita worked at J.P. Morgan in several managing director roles, including as global head of FinTech investment banking. Before joining J.P. Morgan, she was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in their financial institutions group in New York. 

Sumita has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from India and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a Palmer Scholar.  
 

Executive Vice President, Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting Officer

Rob Quigley

As executive vice president, corporate controller, chief accounting officer, Rob Quigley is responsible for all accounting operations, including SEC and statutory reporting, accounting policy, general ledger systems, internal financial controls, and accounting and financial operations for Radian and its subsidiaries.

Rob joined Radian in 2009 as senior vice president, assistant corporate controller. He has served as the company’s chief accounting officer since November 2018, and was promoted to EVP, corporate controller and chief accounting officer in August 2020. Prior to joining Radian, he spent 10 years with Capmark Financial Group, Inc., a global provider of financial services to investors in commercial real estate-related assets, where he held positions of increasing responsibility leading to his appointment as senior vice president, chief accounting officer for North American operations. He began his career in the audit practices of KPMG and then Ernst & Young in New York City.

Rob earned a bachelor's degree in English and Economics from Williams College and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from New York University Stern School of Business.

 

Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Officer

Eric Ray

As senior executive vice president, chief digital officer, Eric Ray oversees the vision, strategy and leadership of Radian’s IT and security functions.

Eric has more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector. Most recently, he held the role of General Manager, Global Technology Services at IBM Corporation where he was responsible for the IBM North American technology consulting business, project based services and enterprise-wide technology offerings.

Eric received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his MBA from the University of Detroit.

 

Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff to the CEO

Emily Riley

As Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff, Emily Riley is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the company’s strategic initiatives and has key oversight for projects that are organizational priorities. She also serves as a co-chair of the Executive Inclusion Council, helping to lead the company’s inclusion efforts.

Emily first joined Radian in 1995, serving in various corporate communications, investor relations and reputation management roles until 2007, when she joined Rohm and Haas Company as manager of financial communications. Emily returned to Radian in 2009, where she has led the company’s brand, communications, marketing, corporate responsibility and public relations efforts, most recently as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. She assumed her current role in 2024.

Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in corporate public relations from Rowan University. She is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) where she is an IRC® charter holder and has served on the Board for the Philadelphia Chapter as well as Vice Chair of the Examination Development Committee for IRC® certification. Emily is a member of the Forum-Group, a network of senior communications executives, has served on the Ipsos Reputation Council and is a past board member of the Interfaith Center of Philadelphia.

In 2021, Emily was honored as one of HousingWire's Women of Influence, which recognizes women shaping and propelling the mortgage, real estate and fintech industries. In 2023 and 2024, she was named one of Inman's Marketing All-Stars, an award that celebrates the most boundary-pushing marketers who are driving success and impact in the real estate industry.

Senior Executive Vice President, Radian Mortgage Capital

Jim Svinth

As senior executive vice president, Radian Mortgage Capital,  Jim Svinth oversees the vision, strategy and leadership of Radian’s mortgage conduit business. 

Jim has more than 35 years of leadership experience in all facets of mortgage lending, from origination and acquisition to capital markets functions. His extensive knowledge encompasses capital markets, structured finance, private-label securitization, risk management, mortgage operations, third-party oversight, and M&A due diligence. 

Prior to his role at Radian, Jim held executive positions such as EVP, Enterprise Risk Management at loanDepot and President and COO of LendingTree Loans.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from the University of Washington and an MBA from Washington State University.

 

Chief executive officer , Inigo

Richard Watson

Richard Watson is the Chief Executive Officer and co‑founder of Inigo, a Radian company. Richard has helped to build the company with a highly focused approach, working with customers to bring capacity and expertise, where they most need it. The customer approach is based on building a closer relationship and a shared desire to understand and analyze risk. Inigo wants to offer its customers more than just a transaction.

Richard’s vision is rooted in creating a business where curiosity, analytical strength, and a powerful culture drive performance. His focus on innovation has shaped Inigo’s approach to climate research, customer partnerships, and market‑leading analytics, all with a single objective: achieving consistently better underwriting outcomes, by working closely with our customers.

Before founding Inigo, Richard spent 33 years at Hiscox Ltd, helping transform it into the world’s largest global specialist insurer with over $4 billion in gross written premiums. Hiscox gave Richard the platform for an exceptional career across insurance and reinsurance. He held numerous leadership roles, culminating in seven years as Chief Underwriting Officer. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Hiscox Global Markets, and later CEO of Hiscox USA during its formative years, experiences that strengthened his belief in the power of culture, talent and data‑driven decision‑making.
