4 AI Prompts to Help Loan Officers Build a Better Social Media Presence

Staying visible on social media between transactions can be one of the more consistent ways loan officers keep their pipelines moving.

You talk to borrowers every day, know the market inside and out, and know exactly what questions they're losing sleep over. The below prompt suggestions can help you turn that knowledge into content without starting from scratch

Each prompt follows a consistent (and intentional) structure. Well-built prompts give generative AI models better context to help produce more specific, usable, and better quality output. Imagine the way you'd brief a capable assistant who is new to your business: the more clearly you define the audience, the deliverable, the tone, and the guardrails, the less back-and-forth you'll need to achieve your end goal. The bracketed fields in each prompt are customizable. Consider saving them to a document that you can reference easily and regularly to produce better content in a fraction of the time.

Remember to always review AI output for accuracy BEFORE posting and to consult your company’s policies on the use of AI before inputting any data into an AI tool.

Prompt 1: The Myth Buster Post

Correct a common misconception and invite conversation with this prompt. The “myth-buster” format earns engagement because it gives people something to react to.

AI Tool Options:

  • Content generation: ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini

  • Social-media-specific: Predis.ai generates post copy and a matching graphic simultaneously. Jasper and Copy.ai offer social media caption templates built around marketing workflows.

Start of Prompt

Chatbot Role: You are a knowledgeable, approachable loan officer who helps everyday people navigate the mortgage process with confidence. You have deep knowledge of effective social media practices.

Task: Write a short, conversational social media post that corrects a common mortgage misconception. Open with a hook that earns attention and close with a soft call-to-action that invites conversation, not a hard sell.

Context: I work primarily with [first-time buyers / move-up buyers / self-employed borrowers]. The misconception I want to address is: [e.g., "you need 20% down to buy a home"]. I want versions of this post for [Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok], channels where prospective borrowers are most likely to be.

  • For Instagram, write the copy as a caption accompanying a static image with a one-line hook before the "more" cut-off.

  • For Facebook, write the copy as a standalone text post with a natural paragraph break after the first sentence.

  • For TikTok, write as a short, spoken script formatted as individual lines, opening with a direct question or bold statement in the first two seconds.

Tone: Confident but approachable, like explaining something to a trusted friend, not delivering a lecture.

Constraints: Do not include rate quotes or any language implying a guarantee. Avoid transaction or product specific language

Examples: [Paste a post you like the style of, or skip]

End of Prompt

Time saved: 30–45 min from scratch → 8–12 min with this prompt.

Prompt 2: The Monthly Content Calendar

One prompt, one working session, four weeks of content. Batch produce your social content with this prompt at the end of each month and schedule everything in advance. Remember to always review AI output for accuracy before posting.

AI Tool Options:

  • Content generation: ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini

  • Social-media-specific: Predis.ai can generate a full content calendar with matching visuals. Jasper's campaign workflows are built for batched content planning.

  • Scheduling: Buffer, Later, or Hootsuite all integrate directly with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Start of Prompt

Chatbot Role: You are a social media strategist who specializes in content for mortgage professionals. You have deep knowledge of the mortgage industry and effective social media practices across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Task: Create a 4-week social media content calendar for a loan officer. Each week should include three posts: one post about the mortgage process with an educational tone, one market-related post referencing current rate conditions or housing trends, and one relationship-building post designed to connect with other professionals in my market. For each post provide a working headline, 2–3 sentences of body copy, and a recommended posting day and time based on most effective outreach strategies for each channel.

Context: My target audience is [e.g., first-time buyers in suburban markets / high-income borrowers in a specific metro area]. My primary goal is to reach prospective borrowers, so I want to prioritize borrower-forward channels like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Vary the format across the month so the content doesn't feel repetitive. Include no more than 2 video scripts and designate the remaining posts between standalone text posts and caption copy to accompany a graphic.

  • For Instagram captions, open with a one-line hook before the "more" cut-off.

  • For Facebook text posts, write in a conversational tone with a natural paragraph break after the first sentence.

  • For TikTok video scripts, format as spoken lines and open with something that stops the scroll in the first two seconds: a surprising fact, a direct question, or a bold statement that makes someone want to keep watching.

Tone: Professional but genuinely approachable, a trusted professional who is generous with their knowledge.

Constraints:

  • Do not include any language implying a guarantee

  • Cite all sources when mentioning market and housing data

  • Flag any posts that may need compliance review before publishing (e.g., inclusion of rate quotes)

Examples: [Paste a post that represents your voice and style, or skip]

End of Prompt

Time saved: 3–4 hours from scratch → 45–60 min with this prompt.

Prompt 3: The 60-Second Video Script

Short-form video often drives the highest engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This prompt can help turn mortgage topics into a ready-to-record script in minutes.

AI Tool Options:

  • Script generation: ChatGPT or Claude

  • Recording and editing: Your phone's native camera is all you need. CapCut (free) handles trimming, transitions, and auto-captions in one place. Always add captions, as much of social video is watched without sound, and captions help make content more accessible for viewers with hearing impairments.

 Start of Prompt

Chatbot Role: You are a video scriptwriter who helps loan officers create short, engaging educational videos for prospective borrowers on social media.

Task: Write a 60-second video script for a loan officer explaining [topic: what PMI is / how an adjustable-rate mortgage works / what happens between pre-approval and closing / why debt-to-income ratio matters] to a borrower. Open with a question or surprising statement that hooks the viewer in the first 2 seconds and close with one clear, memorable takeaway.

Context: My audience is [first-time buyers / move-up buyers / self-employed borrowers] who are unfamiliar with mortgage terminology. This is a vertical short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or Facebook, platforms where prospective borrowers are most active and where authentic, conversational video consistently outperforms polished production. Format the script as spoken lines, not paragraphs, so it is easy to read on camera. For TikTok, use a faster pace and shorter sentences than you would for Instagram Reels.

Tone: Conversational and natural, this should sound like a real person talking, not a blog post being read aloud. Clear and jargon-free.

Constraints: Do not include rate quotes or any language implying a guarantee

Examples: [Paste an example transcript or describe your on-camera style, or skip]

End of Prompt

Time saved: 45–60 min from scratch → 10–15 min with this prompt.

Prompt 4: The "Make It Sound Like Me" Filter

This prompt works a little differently than the others. Instead of generating new content, it's a two-part system that ensures everything you publish sounds like you and not a chatbot. It is designed to be run in two stages: a one-time setup to build your voice profile, and an ongoing checkpoint you'll use before publishing any AI-generated content

AI Tool Options:

  • Voice analysis and rewriting: ChatGPT or Claude

  • Saving your voice profile: Keep this somewhere you can access in seconds: a Google Doc, a note on your phone, or a saved draft in your email. Once it's built, you'll reuse it constantly.

Stage 1: Build Your Voice Profile (one-time prework)

Before you can use this prompt as a publishing checkpoint, you need to create a reusable "voice profile: a description of how you sound in writing that you can paste into future prompts. You'll only need to do this once.

How to do it: Open a new session in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Copy the prompt below and paste it directly into the chat, replacing the bracketed fields with three samples of your own writing. These don't need to be polished or published, an email you've sent, a social post already on your profile, or anything that sounds like you at your best will work.

Start of Prompt

Chatbot Role: You are an expert editor and brand voice specialist.

Task: Analyze the writing samples below and produce a concise Voice and Tone Profile I can save and reuse in future prompts. The profile should describe my communication style, tone, sentence structure, vocabulary, level of formality, and personality in enough detail that another AI session could replicate it accurately. Output the Voice and Tone Profile as a clearly labeled, separate section so I can easily copy and save it.

Writing samples:

  • [Writing sample 1]

  • [Writing sample 2]

  • [Writing sample 3]

End of Prompt

What to do with the result: The AI tool will return a Voice and Tone Profile. Copy that profile and save it somewhere you can access in seconds, like a Google Doc, a note on your phone, or a saved draft in your email. You'll paste it into every future use of this prompt, so keep it handy.

Stage 2: Use This As Your Final Checkpoint Before Publishing

Once your voice profile is built, use this prompt as the last step before publishing any AI-generated content to social media. The workflow:

  1. Generate a post using one of the prompts above (Prompt 1, 2, or 3) and refine it until you're happy with the content.

  1. In the same AI session (or a new one if you need to break up the work, it doesn't matter) copy the prompt below into the chat. Replace the bracketed fields with your saved voice profile and the draft you want to rewrite.

Start of Prompt

Chatbot Role: You are an expert editor and brand voice specialist.

Task: Using the Voice and Tone Profile below, rewrite the following draft so it sounds like the person described in the profile. Keep the substance identical, but adjust the language, rhythm, and word choice to match. Flag anything that still sounds generic or interchangeable and suggest a more distinctive alternative. Avoid using noticeable AI indicators, such as overuse of the emdash or repetitive sentence structure/listing cadence.

Voice and Tone Profile: [Paste your saved voice profile here]

Draft to rewrite: [Paste the drafted result from Prompt 1, 2, or 3 here]

Constraints:

  • Do not change factual claims or add information that wasn't in the original draft

  • Do not use filler phrases or AI-sounding language or formatting

End of Prompt

What to do with the result: Review the rewritten draft against the original. The AI should preserve all facts and key points while making the language sound distinctly like you. Make any final tweaks, run a compliance check, and you're ready to publish.

Time saved: This prompt saves revision time rather than drafting time. When the AI already knows your voice, first drafts need significantly less editing before they're ready to post.

The best social media presence isn't built by the LO with the most free time, but rather by the one who uses their time most efficiently. Save these prompts, block an hour at the end of the month, and see what consistent posting does for your pipeline.

A Note on Compliance

Be sure to consult your organization’s policies and procedures for the acceptable use of approved generative AI tools and processes. AI-generated content requires human review, particularly in a regulated industry. Before posting any mortgage-related content on social media, ensure it aligns with your company's compliance and advertising guidelines, NMLS requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations. Generative AI is a drafting tool, and you remain the compliance checkpoint.
